Random Acts of Joy

I am inviting you to a new Lenten practice this year. We always seem to focus on giving up things for Lent. What if this year you concentrated on doing good things, joyful things for Lent to fill our hearts and spirits with Joy?

All you have to do is cut out some construction paper hearts. Any size will do but keep them small about 3 inches tall by 2 1/2 inches wide. Cut them out of different colors.  Place them in a small basket with a pencil or pen nearby.  However many hearts you cut out depends on how many people in your family. It's best to have at least 40 hearts person for the 40 days of Lent. You can tell everyone about this or post a sign nearby with the following invitation on it:

This Lent you are invited to join in our
Random Acts of Joy
Every day during Lent do something extra:
smile at someone, give a compliment,
don’t show impatience, laugh;
help someone with joy.
Write it down on a
Lenten heart  and
put in the box for Easter.
See how it makes a
difference in your Lenten season.
No names; all anonymous

 Have another basket or a box to place the hearts in.

On Easter Saturday use the completed Hearts of Joy to decorate your kitchen or home with.

Enjoy Lent!
